The Wolves on BOTH Ends! 🐺🔥 Rudy Gobert’s rejection sparked the break leading to the Ayo Dosunmu and-1! Minnesota lead Via @NBATV on X

What happened: Rudy Gobert addressed the home crowd prior to tipoff before recording an early defensive rejection that ignited a transition basket and foul for Ayo Dosunmu.

Why it matters: Generating transition offense directly off interior stops gives the Timberwolves an immediate two-way identity in their 2026-27 home debut, four years after Minnesota acquired Gobert to anchor the paint. Minnesota opened the regular season with two road victories before returning home for Sunday's national broadcast on NBA TV.

By the numbers: Minnesota entered Sunday's home opener with a 2-0 record following a 115-93 road victory on Oct. 23.

What to watch: The Timberwolves look to build on their early margin and push their season-opening win streak to three games.
