What happened: Hutson broke the scoreless deadlock to establish a 1-0 lead in the first outdoor showcase of the 2026-27 NHL regular season. The tentpole broadcast airs nationally across Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada alongside TNT and HBO Max in the United States.

Why it matters: The strike builds on a productive month for Hutson after he netted goals in consecutive games in mid-October. Converting on the league's premier outdoor stage adds early regular-season weight to October projections surrounding his 2026-27 point pace.

What to watch: Action continues in the 2026 Heritage Classic as Hutson looks to extend the early one-goal advantage over the remainder of regulation.
