What happened: Fabrizio Romano reported that Antoine Griezmann has played his last Champions League match in an Atletico Madrid shirt, marking the end of an era for the French forward at the club. The note follows Atletico's elimination from the competition and aligns with his pending summer move out of Madrid.

Why it matters: Griezmann is one of Atletico's all-time greats and a World Cup winner whose European nights have defined a generation at the Metropolitano. His departure closes a chapter for a club that built much of its modern identity around him, and it reshapes Atletico's attacking core heading into the 2026-27 campaign.

What to watch: Watch for Griezmann's farewell appearances in La Liga's closing weeks and confirmation of his MLS debut window with Orlando City. Atletico's summer recruitment to replace his output will be the next domino.
