What happened: Lewis Hamilton secured his first victory for Scuderia Ferrari at the 2026 Barcelona Grand Prix, ending a 686-day winless streak. Hamilton utilized a three-stop strategy and a well-timed Virtual Safety Car to overtake the Mercedes pair of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli for his 106th career win.

Why it matters: The triumph marks a significant turnaround for Hamilton in his debut season with Ferrari, positioning him as a title contender after a difficult 2025. The result also produced the first all-British podium since 1968, highlighting a shift in the competitive order as Mercedes and McLaren challenge the top of the grid.

What to watch: Hamilton enters the next round with significant momentum as he looks to close the 41-point gap on championship leader Kimi Antonelli. Ferrari will focus on reliability after a power steering failure forced Charles Leclerc to retire in Barcelona.
