What happened: Cam Skattebo finished Sunday without a carry for the New York Giants. John Harbaugh said afterward the zero-carry game was not by design and Skattebo was not benched. Skattebo said he understood the decision as punishment tied to last week.

Why it matters: The split leaves New York sorting a crowded backfield during the season. The Giants were already expected to expand Najee Harris' role in the rotation. Clarity on carries determines weekly roles and touches going forward.

What to watch: Watch practice usage and next week's carry split for where Skattebo stands in the rotation.
