What happened: Harrison Smith drew the focus at the close of a toughest-opponents discussion circulating Friday. Von Miller was also part of the same defensive group mentioned alongside Smith.

Why it matters: The moment keeps Harrison Smith in the NFL conversation during his 15th season. It also pairs two veteran defenders who remain active in 2026, giving the chatter some current roster relevance beyond pure nostalgia.

By the numbers: Smith posted 54 tackles, one sack and two interceptions in 15 games in 2025. Miller finished 2025 with 26 tackles and nine sacks across 17 games.

What to watch: Watch whether either veteran turns the renewed attention into a fresh on-field moment as the regular season moves deeper into October.
