What happened: MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin confirmed the booking with people familiar with the matchup. Hasan, 25, earned his UFC contract with a 45-second knockout of Mridul Saikia before stopping Nilson Rojas in the second round of his promotional debut.

Why it matters: The matchup gives Hasan a chance to extend his unbeaten start on his Madison Square Garden debut. Gurule seeks to reverse a 1-4 stretch after a first-round submission loss to Rei Tsuruya in May.

By the numbers: Hasan enters at 10-0; Gurule is 11-4. Gurule’s only UFC victory came by unanimous decision against Daniel Barez.

What to watch: The next major announcement to watch is the UFC 334 main event, which remains unannounced.
