What happened: The longtime New Orleans utility player said his NFL future remains unclear. He thanked the city and organization as 2026 training camp opened without him.

Why it matters: New Orleans enters the season without a player used at quarterback, tight end, running back and punt protector. The offense must redistribute a package of specialized snaps built around his versatility.

By the numbers: Hill finished his Saints tenure with 2,426 passing yards, 2,551 rushing yards and 1,034 receiving yards. He became the only player in the Super Bowl era to surpass 1,000 yards in all three categories.

What to watch: Watch whether Hill signs elsewhere or ends his playing career, and how New Orleans replaces his multi-role snaps.
