What happened: Hill spent nine seasons in New Orleans in a hybrid role across offense and special teams. His playing future remains undecided.

Why it matters: The decision removes a quarterback, rushing and receiving option from the Saints' plans. It also settles a lingering roster question before the preseason.

What to watch: Hill's next step is whether he signs elsewhere or ends his playing career. New Orleans must redistribute his hybrid snaps during preseason work.
