What happened: The Charlotte Hornets and Sacramento Kings have reportedly discussed a trade framework involving three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis. The proposed deal would send Miles Bridges, Josh Green, and a potential first-round pick to Sacramento as the Kings look to retool following a 22-60 season.

Why it matters: Charlotte is aggressively seeking an elite interior playmaker to pair with LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller. For Sacramento, moving Sabonis’s $45.5M salary provides significant cap relief and allows the franchise to prioritize youth and draft capital after falling to the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

What to watch: League insiders expect talks to intensify following the June 23 draft if Charlotte remains willing to move their mid-first-round assets.
