What happened: Charlotte hosted its 18th annual Heroes Gala presented by Lowes, bringing together guests and players to celebrate the Charlotte Hornets Foundation. Proceeds topped $1M for community work across the Carolinas.

Why it matters: The foundation anchors the team's year-round community presence beyond game nights. Clearing seven figures in one evening sets the scale for its Carolina giving this year.

What to watch: Watch for foundation announcements detailing where the funds go in the Carolinas.
