What happened: Quinn Hughes played his first game back in Vancouver since his trade. The home crowd gave him little support from puck drop. His side finished ahead on the scoreboard.

Why it matters: First returns define how a split is remembered around the league. The cold reception showed the move still stings locally. Leaving with a win gave Hughes the decisive answer on the ice.

What to watch: Both sides now move past the return with the result settled.
