What happened: Pacers Sports & Entertainment president and CEO Mel Raines issued a statement Friday thanking Amber Cox for guiding the organization through two years of league and franchise growth. The formal announcement follows confirmation from Annie Costabile and Alexa Philippou that Indiana fired Cox.

Why it matters: Cox's dismissal arrives on the same day Kelly Krauskopf resigned as Fever president, vacating both of Indiana's top basketball operations posts simultaneously. The franchise enters the 2027 WNBA offseason needing new front-office leadership to manage free agency and roster decisions.

What to watch: Pacers Sports & Entertainment now conducts a dual search for a new team president and general manager ahead of the 2027 WNBA campaign.
