What happened: Inter Milan have agreed personal terms with Anan Khalaili, matching the agreement Napoli struck with the player a few weeks ago. The 21-year-old is keen on both projects, leaving the decision to come down to club-to-club negotiations with Union Saint-Gilloise, where talks are ongoing.

Why it matters: With both Serie A clubs holding personal-terms agreements, the transfer now becomes a straight negotiation race over the fee with Union Saint-Gilloise. Inter's agreement follows a week of escalating competition with Napoli, who identified Khalaili as a right-back target in June.

What to watch: Watch for movement in the club-to-club talks with Union Saint-Gilloise — whichever club meets the Belgian side's valuation first is positioned to close the deal.
