What happened: Jayden Daniels threw the ball away on fourth down, ending the possession without a conversion attempt. The decision drew criticism focused on situational awareness.

Why it matters: Fourth-down plays decide possession, so a throwaway concedes the drive without testing coverage. For a young starter, late-down decisions face added scrutiny.

What to watch: The next fourth-down chances will show whether Daniels extends plays instead of discarding the ball.
