What happened: Jesús Sánchez recorded his 500th career Major League hit during a 3-for-4 performance against the Philadelphia Phillies. The milestone occurred during a multi-hit night that included a solo home run and a double to help secure a 3-2 victory. He finished the evening with a .296 season batting average.

Why it matters: Sánchez has been a vital offensive centerpiece during the #BlueJays50 anniversary season, batting .400 over his last 15 games. His production at the plate has kept Toronto tied for the final American League Wild Card spot despite recent rotation inconsistencies.

What to watch: The homestand continues against Philadelphia as Sánchez looks to extend his current hitting streak.
