Jets CB Nahshon Wright, with no defensive snaps, says 'it's been frustrating'

Zero defensive snaps on a $3.5M one-year deal

What happened: Jets cornerback Nahshon Wright has played zero defensive snaps this season after signing a one-year, $3.5 million contract in free agency. "I just want to play, that's it," Wright said. He added that no coach has explained why he isn't playing. He was inactive for four weeks and was active last week only because Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was inactive for disciplinary reasons.

Why it matters: Wright had not formally requested a trade, and said a move "wouldn't be my decision" but GM Darren Mougey's. He has spoken with the front office and said he is trying to figure out "what is best for me, whether that's here or somewhere else." The Nov. 10 trade deadline makes him a possible piece for a Jets team that is 2-5.

By the numbers: Wright had five interceptions last season with the Bears. Second-year corner Azareye'h Thomas took the starting job after Wright's training camp injury and has played well since the season started. New York is 2-5 after losing 25-28 to Miami on Oct. 25.

What to watch: The Jets host the Raiders (3-4) at 1 p.m. ET today. Wright's status ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline is the thing to watch.
