Jets work out Will Levis, Jack Plummer at quarterback

Both candidates were evaluated for a practice-squad spot.

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Sep 31 min read

What happened: Levis was waived by the Tennessee Titans during weekend roster cuts and cleared waivers. Plummer previously drew a 49ers workout after winning UFL MVP honors.

Why it matters: The Jets have Geno Smith as their starter and rookie Cade Klubnik on the 53-man roster. Adding a practice-squad quarterback would give New York another option behind its active depth chart.

By the numbers: Levis started 21 games for Tennessee from 2023-24, completing 61.0% of his passes for 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Plummer led the UFL with 2,188 passing yards and posted 17 touchdowns against one interception in 10 games.

What to watch: New York's next roster move will determine whether either workout leads to a practice-squad signing.
