What happened: Kelowna Rockets rookie Madden Daneault has stepped into the Western Hockey League lineup without backing down against older junior opposition.

Why it matters: The WHL age gap creates a steep physical adjustment for first-year skaters entering the league during the 2026-27 season. Holding steady against veteran junior competition early in the schedule helps establish a consistent role in Kelowna's rotation.

What to watch: Daneault and Kelowna continue their 2026-27 WHL regular-season schedule.
