Kevin Cash when asked if Nick Martinez would be available after pitching 2 innings last night: ‘Nick is in the clubhouse Via @BNightengale on X

What happened: Nick Martinez is shirtless in the clubhouse with a stim machine on his arm and pumped up to pitch again today, manager Kevin Cash said, per Bob Nightengale. Cash added that he expects to hear from all of his relievers throughout the day as they volunteer for work.

Why it matters: After being tabbed to start World Series Game 1, Martinez has shifted into a flexible relief role following a walk-off win last night. Having a stretched-out arm available on back-to-back days gives the pitching staff crucial bridge coverage in the postseason.

By the numbers: Martinez entered in the top of the sixth inning in Game 4 and pitched 2.0 relief innings.

What to watch: The coaching staff will evaluate pregame bullpen check-ins throughout the afternoon before locking in today's pitching sequence.
