What happened: MLB Network analyst DeRo noted that Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash downshifted in Game 1 to see which relievers could enter his circle of trust. The MLB Central crew examined how Tampa Bay sequenced its relief options during the opener.

Why it matters: Establishing reliable bullpen options shapes Tampa Bay's postseason pitching plans while the Milwaukee Brewers lead the series 1-0. Identifying trusted relievers early gives Cash clearer leverage assignments for the rest of the matchup.

What to watch: The scheduled matchup between the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers has not started yet, with the score at 0-0.
