What happened: Per Siegel, New York explores moving Pacome Dadiet while Los Angeles explores moving Dalton Knecht. Deals are being weighed before the season starts.

Why it matters: Keeping a recent first-round pick through a crunch forces a cut elsewhere to reach roster limits. Moving Dadiet or Knecht now preserves value instead of a camp cut.

What to watch: The opening-night roster cutdown decides these talks.
