What happened: The defending champion New York Knicks travel to face the Boston Celtics in Boston's home opener, with the scheduled contest standing at 0-0 before tipoff. The Friday doubleheader on Prime also sends the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs to Austin for an intrastate Texas matchup.

Why it matters: The twin bill pairs established conference and regional rivals during the opening week of the regular season as Prime opens its Friday NBA broadcast slate. Staging the Rockets-Spurs contest in Austin also brings regular-season NBA action to a secondary Texas market outside San Antonio.

What to watch: Coverage of the doubleheader tips off at 7:00pm/et on Prime, starting with New York and Boston before shifting to the Texas matchup in Austin.
