What happened: Kyle Connor scored a go-ahead road goal on Friday to push his 2026-27 regular-season total to nine goals in 10 games. The strike builds on his seven-goal start across the first six contests of the campaign.

Why it matters: Connor opened the 2026-27 schedule on Oct. 3 by extending his NHL record for consecutive season-opening games with a goal to nine straight years. On Oct. 10, he climbed into third place on his franchise's all-time goals leaderboard.

By the numbers: 9 goals in 10 games during the 2026-27 NHL regular season (0.90 goals per game); 7 goals through his first 6 games; 9 consecutive season openers with a goal; 700th career NHL game played on Oct. 9, 2026.

What to watch: Connor looks to reaches double-digit goals on the next stop of the late-October slate.
