What happened: Kyrie Irving took the floor in the opening five for Dallas, marking his first regular-season action since March 3, 2025. The matchup between the Mavericks and Rockets is underway on NBA League Pass.

Why it matters: Reintegrating Irving into the first unit restores a primary ballhandler to the Mavericks' backcourt after an extended regular-season hiatus. His return stabilizes Dallas's perimeter rotation as the regular-season slate begins.
