What happened: Head coach JJ Redick announced that Collin Sexton was a modified participant in Saturday's practice and did not take part in scrimmages. The Lakers consider the guard day-to-day as he manages a lower leg issue.

Why it matters: Sexton enters his first preseason in Los Angeles after signing a two-year, $19 million contract in July. He is projected to provide crucial backcourt support behind the starting rotation during the upcoming campaign.

What to watch: His practice involvement will be monitored ahead of the team's next exhibition game.
