What happened: Larison returned after a foot injury ended his 2025 season. New England signed him to its practice squad on Aug. 31.

Why it matters: An elevation would position Larison to make his NFL regular-season debut. It would give New England another backfield option for its opener.

By the numbers: Larison recorded 18 carries for 39 yards and one touchdown while adding nine catches for 79 yards during the 2026 preseason.

What to watch: The Patriots' Wednesday transaction report will settle whether Larison joins the game-day roster for the opener.
