What happened: Oregon head coach Dan Lanning confirmed defensive lineman Bear Alexander will not face team discipline for contact with UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Lanning said Alexander was attempting to knock the football loose during the second quarter at Autzen Stadium. The play went unpenalized during UCLA's 17-15 win Saturday.

Why it matters: Iamaleava suffered a torn ACL on the play and Iamaleava's season-ending knee injury leaves 5-0 UCLA without its starting quarterback during an unbeaten start. UCLA coach Bob Chesney called the contact egregious after reviewing footage. The Big Ten has not announced a disciplinary decision.

By the numbers: UCLA led 10-6 at the time of the incident and extended to 17-6 in the fourth; Oregon closed with nine points but missed the tying two-point conversion. Alexander finished with six tackles. UCLA improved to 5-0 with its first win at Autzen Stadium since 2004; Oregon fell to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference.

What to watch: The Big Ten decision is the next ruling to watch. Oregon hosts Nebraska on Saturday night at Autzen Stadium.
