What happened: The Day 9 session at Lanier High School in Sugar Hill ended more than 30 minutes early. Tua Tagovailoa produced his best throws and overall showing of camp.

Why it matters: The performance adds a positive evaluation point after Tagovailoa previously worked on a limited basis. The shortened session reduced Atlanta's remaining team-drill work Saturday.

By the numbers: Tagovailoa completed 6 of 8 passes in 11-on-11 drills, a 75% completion rate. Lightning erased more than 30 minutes from the scheduled practice.

What to watch: The next practices will show whether Tagovailoa sustains that accuracy. Atlanta opens its preseason schedule Aug. 14.
