What happened: The revamped Los Angeles Lakers officially launched their new chapter on Wednesday's Opening Night schedule. Arena doors opened early for a pre-game TASCHEN book signing near Section 108 running from 5:30 p.m. until tipoff.

Why it matters: Following a summer roster overhaul that closed the franchise's previous era in June, the front office committed $60 million on Oct. 8 to lock in a new starting backcourt piece. Management also waived a training camp rookie ahead of Monday's 5 p.m. ET cutdown deadline and signed a 25-year-old forward to an Exhibit 10 contract.

What to watch: Los Angeles now transitions into its early-season schedule as the newly constructed 15-man unit logs its first regular-season minutes together.
