What happened: Los Angeles announced it is parting ways with Kurt Suzuki as field manager after a single season, per MLB Trade Rumors. The organization made the move in coordination with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.

Why it matters: The dugout opening aligns with a broader leadership transition as the Angels prepare to hire a general manager for the 2027 campaign. Resetting both roles lets the incoming baseball operations head install a new coaching staff.

By the numbers: Los Angeles finished 62-100 (.383) during Suzuki's lone season managing the club in 2026.

What to watch: The Angels will conduct formal candidate interviews for the dugout and front office while Suzuki weighs the advisory role.
