What happened: Flyweight contender Manel Kape threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Athletics took the field in Las Vegas last week. The appearance came as part of the promotion for UFC Vegas 119.

Why it matters: The crossover links the UFC's upcoming card to the Athletics' ongoing Las Vegas residency, putting Kape in front of a local sports audience days before he competes. It keeps the flyweight visible heading into a featured fight week.

What to watch: Kape is scheduled to fight Saturday, June 20 at UFC Vegas 119, airing 8 p.m. ET on Paramount+.
