What happened: Oldham Athletic defender Manny Monthe has signed a new two-year deal with the League Two club. The agreement keeps him with Oldham beyond the 2025-26 season after he had been among players in talks over extensions.

Why it matters: The move gives Oldham continuity at the back as the club builds toward the upcoming 2026-27 League Two season. Retaining a regular defender helps stabilize the squad before summer recruitment decisions accelerate.

What to watch: Watch whether Oldham follow this deal with more extensions for players who entered the offseason in contract talks. The club's retained list and early summer signings will shape the defensive depth chart.
