What happened: Sportsnet analyst Luke Fox highlighted that the Toronto Maple Leafs require greater offensive drive from forward William Nylander to sustain their forward structure. The Maple Leafs roster construction depends on multiple forward units controlling play across each contest.

Why it matters: Balanced production remains critical for Toronto to withstand tight defensive matchups and maintain pace in the regular season. Following a 3-2 defeat, generating consistent puck possession beyond the primary group ensures the lineup does not become one-dimensional.

What to watch: Toronto evaluates forward line combinations in upcoming practices to jumpstart Nylander and balance the offensive rotation.
