What happened: New York acquired the 24-year-old from Vegas in March 2025 in a trade centered on Reilly Smith. Vegas selected Brisson 29th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft.

Why it matters: The structure provides flexibility to assign him to the AHL while retaining an NHL depth option. Brisson enters camp seeking a larger role after spending most of last season in the minors.

By the numbers: Brisson recorded 19 goals and 18 assists for 37 points in 66 AHL games last season, a 0.56-point pace. He added one assist in three games for New York and has nine points in 27 career NHL appearances.

What to watch: Training camp will determine whether he opens 2026-27 in the NHL or AHL.
