What happened: A clearance by Barcelona defender Gerard Martin ricocheted off Kylian Mbappe and into the net to open the scoring at Camp Nou. The deflection puts the visitors ahead 1-0 in the 265th edition of the rivalry.

Why it matters: The early road cushion arrives after a pre-match change in goal for Real Madrid, with Andriy Lunin replacing Thibaut Courtois due to a viral infection. Sunday's match also marks the first time the fixture is broadcast live on ABC in the United States.

What to watch: Barcelona must now chase an equalizer at home with Real Madrid protecting an early one-goal margin.
