What happened: Lionel Messi scored a goal and set up another for Inter Miami overnight, per Fabrizio Romano. The two contributions lifted his career totals to 937 goals and 428 assists.

Why it matters: The tally continues a scoring run that included a two-goal burst in five minutes earlier this month and a 900th career goal in March. Inter Miami clinched a 2026 MLS Playoffs berth on Oct. 15.

What to watch: Inter Miami's MLS Playoffs run is the next stage for Messi to add to the totals.
