What happened: The New York Mets posted a Father's Day message thanking the dads in their fan base. The team shared the note as part of its holiday outreach to supporters.

Why it matters: Community-facing messages like this help the Mets maintain their connection to the fan base during a stretch when the club sits below .500 and is looking to steady its season. Off-field engagement remains a steady part of the team's relationship with supporters even as the standings tighten.

What to watch: New York continues its homestand against Chicago at Citi Field, with the Cubs (40-37) coming to town.
