What happened: Fitzpatrick discussed the defense's first three games as New York moved through its Week 4 practice schedule. He was listed as limited Wednesday and remained questionable this week.

Why it matters: That leaves his availability tied directly to the defense's short-term outlook as the opening month closes. New York has already tracked him on multiple recent injury reports, including Wednesday's limited practice report.

What to watch: The next practice report and final game designation will show whether he advances beyond limited work. His next appearance should offer a clearer read on where the defense stands after four weeks.
