What happened: League play officially resumes after the preseason concludes, with national coverage split across broadcast television and streaming. The schedule also features annual Jersey Day on Monday, Oct. 19 ahead of the opening-day tripleheader.

Why it matters: The dual-platform premiere anchors the start of the 2026-27 campaign across linear network television and digital distribution. Opening-week results immediately count toward conference tiebreakers as overhauled rosters debut their regular-season rotations.

What to watch: Official opening-night active rosters and injury designations are due ahead of Tuesday's 3 p.m. ET opener.
