What happened: The NBA released an Election Day civic awareness message Tuesday featuring Jared McCain to promote voter participation. It builds on previous league messaging involving the same Jared McCain who fronted an NBA voter turnout campaign in late October. The league directed fans to online resources to locate polling sites while keeping its game schedule clear for the day.

Why it matters: The league has routinely utilized its platform and prominent young talent to drive civic engagement during national election cycles. With all 30 teams off the court Tuesday, the association focuses attention on community and civic initiatives before the regular-season slate resumes.

What to watch: NBA regular-season action resumes Wednesday following the league-wide off-day.
