What happened: Neil Patrick Harris is set to play Mr. Applegate, the devil figure at the center of the baseball musical, in the revival of "Damn Yankees." Harris will discuss the role on the MLB Network Podcast alongside Julianne Hough and Austin Scott.

Why it matters: Applegate is the character who offers a lifelong fan a pennant-winning deal in exchange for his soul, which makes the part the show's main attraction. The casting follows the Yankees' note on the musical's return to the stage.

What to watch: Harris, Hough and Scott appear on the MLB Network Podcast Monday at 11:30 a.m. ET.
