What happened: New England finalized Jacas' second-round rookie contract on July 26 following productive training camp negotiations. He made an immediate impact once the regular season began, as Gabe Jacas recorded his first career sack in the NFL opener on Sept. 10.

Why it matters: That early disruption has carried through the opening stretch of the 2026 campaign, placing him near the top of the first-year defensive class. In Week 4, Jacas earned an 84.4 PFF grade on Oct. 5, finishing second among all rookie defenders behind Arvell Reese's 90.5 mark.

By the numbers: As of Oct. 13, Jacas ranks second among 2026 rookies with 14 pressures, trailing David Bailey (20) and edging Gill-Howard (13).

What to watch: Jacas remains a core piece of New England's pass-rush rotation as the 2026 regular-season schedule continues.
