What happened: Forward Nils Aman has signed with Djurgårdens IF in the SHL after failing to receive a qualifying offer from the Vancouver Canucks. The move ends his four-year tenure in the Canucks organization, which began when he joined as a free agent in 2022.

Why it matters: Aman's NHL usage dwindled over his final three seasons in Vancouver, culminating in just two appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. His departure removes an organizational depth piece for the Canucks while offering the forward a fresh start overseas.

By the numbers: The Colorado Avalanche originally selected Aman in the sixth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He peaked offensively at the NHL level during the 2022-23 season, posting four goals and 12 assists across 68 games.

What to watch: Aman will join Djurgårdens IF ahead of the upcoming 2026-27 season. Vancouver continues to navigate the offseason and reshape its depth chart.
