What happened: Washington cleared Dybantsa to play Wednesday after initially listing him as questionable on the injury report. He converted his first NBA field goal on a three-quarter-court alley-oop lob from Trae Young, who recently called the rookie the future face of the league.

Why it matters: Getting the No. 4 rookie onto the floor gives Washington its centerpiece draft addition after opening the 2026-27 regular season without him. His arrival follows an offseason in which Eric Pincus compared his Summer League play to Tracy McGrady.

What to watch: Watch how Washington manages Dybantsa's minutes and workload coming off the ankle injury over the next week of regular-season play.
