What happened: Lando Norris passed Franco Colapinto into Turn 1 on Lap 5 to claim seventh place at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Norris completed the overtake on the brakes after losing straight-line momentum once out of the Alpine's slipstream. Both drivers maintained their track positions through the chequered flag.

Why it matters: The Lap 5 pass decided the running order among the midfield group at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, netting six championship points for Norris and four for Colapinto. It marks another on-track encounter between the two drivers following their contact at Baku earlier in the season. Charles Leclerc claimed the grand prix victory ahead of Max Verstappen.

What to watch: Teams will review tire degradation and aerodynamic data from Mexico City ahead of the next round on the 2026 Formula 1 calendar.
