What happened: The six-time All-Star chose Denver on Aug. 21 after becoming a free agent in July. He will wear No. 10 for the Nuggets.

Why it matters: Denver adds a veteran half-court scorer for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The one-year structure leaves the club without a commitment beyond that campaign.

By the numbers: DeRozan averaged 18.4 points in 77 games during 2025-26. His 26,711 career points rank 16th in NBA history.

What to watch: Denver's preseason rotations will clarify DeRozan's role.
