What happened: New Zealand forward Charlotte Whittaker has committed to the UC Capitals for the WNBL27 season, the club announced. The Canberra side is bringing her in to add frontcourt depth to its rotation. The move is pending WNBL review and approval before it becomes official.

Why it matters: The signing addresses a stated depth need for the UC Capitals as they shape their roster ahead of WNBL27. Adding an experienced forward gives Canberra more flexibility and insurance in the frontcourt across a long season.

What to watch: The commitment awaits formal WNBL review and approval before it is finalized, with the Capitals expected to continue building out their WNBL27 roster.
