NNEKA OGWUMIKE. LOS ANGELES' NEW ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER. Congrats, @nnekaogwumike! Via @NBA on X

What happened: Nneka Ogwumike has passed Lisa Leslie to become the Los Angeles Sparks' all-time leading scorer, reaching 6,265 career points. Ogwumike was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft.

Why it matters: The mark adds to a decorated Sparks tenure that has already included passing Sylvia Fowles on the all-time free-throw list. Leslie, a three-time MVP and Hall of Famer, had held the franchise scoring mark from her own playing days with the Sparks.

By the numbers: 6,265 career points for Ogwumike, surpassing Lisa Leslie's franchise scoring total with the Sparks.

What to watch: Ogwumike continues to add to the new franchise scoring mark as the Sparks' season continues.
