What happened: College GameDay's Week 3 stop in Oxford turned into a running referendum on Lane Kiffin before LSU faced Ole Miss Saturday night. Fans waved signs mocking Kiffin's return, including riffs on The Godfather, his old "island" line and Morgan Freeman's guest-picker role.

Why it matters: The crowd reaction sharpened the backdrop for Lane Kiffin's Oxford return and made the pregame mood part of the matchup. It also added another layer to a night game that already carried a quarterback question after Sam Leavitt was listed doubtful earlier in the week.

What to watch: The next watch is whether the crowd noise carries into kickoff and how LSU handles its quarterback decision if Leavitt does not go.
